This Privacy Policy describes how Arnob - Learn German & English
(bundle IDs com.abdulrahman.deutschquest and
com.letsgoarnob.arnob) collects, uses,
and protects your data. By using the app you agree to this policy.
1. Data We Collect
Account data – email address and display name (Firebase Authentication)
Learning progress – completed chapters, XP points, streak days, saved words (Firebase Firestore)
Subscription data – subscription status and purchase history (RevenueCat)
Advertising identifiers – IDFA (iOS) or Advertising ID (Android), used by Google AdMob to serve ads (see Section 6)
Device data – language setting, avatar, and local preferences (stored only on your device via AsyncStorage)
Social data – friends list, arena duels, chat messages, and leaderboard username/win stats (Firestore)
Voice audio – when using the Voice AI conversation feature, your spoken audio is streamed live to OpenAI's servers for processing. Audio is not stored by the app (see Section 8).
Crash reports – technical error data via Sentry, including your user ID and email address to help us identify and fix account-specific crashes
Product analytics – anonymized app usage via PostHog, including screen views, device metadata, and user ID. Session replay and touch autocapture are disabled.
Push tokens – for notifications via Expo Push (deleted on uninstall)
Guest users have no Firebase account. Their data remains exclusively on the device.
2. Children's Privacy
Arnob - Learn German & English is not directed to children under 13 years of age.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use online features of the app.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13,
do not register, sign in, make purchases, use chat or voice features, or send personal data
through the app.
If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected without
appropriate parental consent, we will delete that information. Parents or guardians can contact
us at info@arnob.app to request deletion.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
4. Firebase – Authentication & Database
Arnob - Learn German & English uses Firebase Authentication and
Firebase Firestore (Google LLC) to store your account
and learning data securely.
Firebase is ISO 27001 certified and GDPR-compliant.
Data is stored in Europe (region: eur3 – Frankfurt / Belgium).
Firebase participates in the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Arnob - Learn German & English uses Google AdMob (Google LLC) to display
advertisements that help fund the free tier of the app.
What AdMob may collect:
Advertising ID – IDFA (iOS) or Google Advertising ID (Android)
Device information – model, OS version
Approximate location derived from IP address
In-app usage signals
iOS – App Tracking Transparency (ATT):
On first launch, the app displays Apple's ATT consent prompt. If you grant
permission, AdMob may use your IDFA to show personalised ads. If you decline,
only non-personalised ads are shown.
To change your choice later: iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Android – Opt-out:
Go to Google Settings → Ads → Delete advertising ID
to opt out of personalised advertising.
You may optionally sign in using your Google or Apple
account. In that case, we receive only a unique user ID and your email address
from the respective provider. No passwords are stored by Arnob - Learn German & English.
Arnob - Learn German & English uses ElevenLabs to generate spoken audio
for vocabulary and sentences. Text strings are sent to ElevenLabs' API to
produce audio. No personal data (name, email, location) is transmitted.
The Voice AI conversation feature is powered by OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C.).
When you use this feature, your spoken audio is streamed live to OpenAI's
Realtime API over an encrypted WebSocket connection. OpenAI's Whisper model
transcribes your speech and generates a spoken response.
Audio is processed in real time and is not stored by the app.
OpenAI may retain data according to its own data retention policy.
Do not share sensitive personal information during voice sessions.
Some translation features in the app use the DeepL API (DeepL SE, Maarweg 165, 50825 Cologne, Germany).
Text you submit for translation is sent to DeepL's servers to generate the translation.
No personal account data is transmitted.
The in-app AI chat feature is powered by Google Gemini. Messages
you type in the chat are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate responses.
Do not share sensitive personal information in the chat.
Active accounts: data is kept while the account exists.
After account deletion: Firebase Authentication and Firestore data are immediately and irreversibly removed.
Auto-deletion: learning progress is automatically deleted 120 days after completing the 90-day challenge, even without manual deletion.
Local data: deleted automatically when you uninstall the app.
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen inside the app.

15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be
